Hi Dani, I have a question you might have an answer to. The home next door to me, about 150 feet away, has been affected by Chinese drywall, which destroyed the whole home. The photos on Zillow show, as clear as crystal, mold growing on every surface in the house. It’s like the whole family picked up and fled one day, the home is full of belongings, they left everything! In order to view the home, you had to wear an N-95 mask inside which probably didn’t help anyway… in any case, someone bought the home and I am worried when they start fixing it, they will do it in a way that might negatively affect us and the other families surrounding that property. My husband said he heard that if you ‘donate’ the home to the local fire dept they can practice drills in it and eventually set fire to it, but the owners certainly won’t get the $899 price their looking for to cover the mortgage… I’m sorry, the bank, it’s a short sale. Someone just bought the house and they have a clause in their contract that if remediation costs more than $300K they can pull out of the contract. In any case, I am concerned because the house is a toxic biological hazard and it sits so close to us. Any suggestions?
