The first step toward a more period sleep system. I encountered a major problem while waterproofing. Learn from my mistakes! This is not 100% historically accurate, but it is historically inspired and meant to function, not just be a prop. I'll be testing this bedroll in many camps and larps, to see how it does in "medieval" adventuring scenarios. Realistic Fantasy Adventurers | An Origin Story08:01
Realistic Fantasy Adventurers | An Origin Story
3 years ago

Just because something isn't historical, does that mean it isn't realistic? This is an origin for how fantasy adventurers might have existed. The question is not whether adventurers exist, but how? Based on history, ideas from Shadiversity, and my own thoughts. Shad did 2 videos on how realistic fantasy adventurers and guilds would function. I was originally going to comment, but realized I had way more to say! I believe that when it comes to analyzing fantasy to determine if something makes sense, that it's important to correctly frame the context in which that thing is supposed to exist. While we can learn why things happened in our own world, people, jobs, items, would evolve differently than they would in another one. We can learn from history, but medieval fantasy is not history. Travel as a REAL Fantasy Adventurer | What would it be like?16:09
Travel as a REAL Fantasy Adventurer | What would it be like?

Overland Travel as a Fantasy Adventurer is much harder than it might seem. What would adventuring really be like while travelling? Who would survive? Tolkien was right, adventures are "nasty, disturbing, uncomfortable things that make you late for dinner". Would an adventurer with below average strength or constitution even survive the journey? --- "Voice of an angel", "Vetur frosti", "Greenlands", "Mjonir", "Heartbeat", "Wildlands", "Wonderland", "The Cold Battle", "Prepare for War", "Until the End", "Tavern Loop One", "Nowhere Land" by Alexander Nakarada | https://www.serpentsoundstudios.com Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Canvas Backpack Review for FANTASY Adventurers16:08
Canvas Backpack Review for FANTASY Adventurers

This Canvas Backpack has appeared in a number of my videos and has served me well for years. For FANTASY adventuring, how does it hold up? This canvas pack is anachronistic with as far as I can tell, 0 historical accuracies, but being that I am usually attempting to recreate a LOTR equivalent world, this pack fits that goal, and it's why I chose to purchase it 2 years ago. Since then I have used it for day-to-day activities as well as traveling and camping. Specs (are approximate): 19 in Height 11 in Width 9 in Depth Pros: Water Resistant The color scheme and overall aesthetic meet my current standards for LOTR reenactment Spacious Easy to clean Cons: Completely Anachronistic Zipper (failed and now no longer functions) Buckles are attached via magnet Strap studs are inconvenient --- "Nowhere Land", "Vetur Frosti", "Now We Feast", "Mjonir", "Greenlands" by Alexander Nakarada | https://www.serpentsoundstudios.com Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Thoughts on increasing Medieval Aesthetic of your camp. There's something so rustic yet cozy about camping and we adventurers need good camps. **IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Do your own research on the products, do not consider the fact that they appear in the video to be a direct endorsement. Medieval Camping: What I Learned06:10
Medieval Camping: What I Learned

Medieval Camping is an experiment. We must learn and improve. What do we see in movies that makes no practical sense? This is how we find out. Medieval Camping, while completely anachronistic, is a super fun way to test your kit in the field, find out what works, what really doesn't, what you can modify, what you need and what you don't. Everyone's experience and kit will be different, and while I am still building mine, with lots of modern, anachronistic stand ins still used, you'll never know what you need until you've tried to use it. So go out there and get some experience. Camp List PDF: https://tinyurl.com/yecu6kl5 Need Garb?
