Happy early Christmahanusolstice!! More Dragon Knight 4 combat previews, this time some later combat on the outskirts of Michelle and Hobbit Villages. Of note are some new soldier types: Dragons that hurl stones (seen early in the battle on the enemy side, only archers/mages can hurt them), Ninjas (the comically vain Sayla, and Santos, both in Kakeru's army) Cannoneers (multiple enemies, Rosalind in Kakeru's army). Jokes aside, this ain't Les Mis... I showed off a picture of this lovely pink haired lady Pandora to the PC-9800 series central Discord, and considering the positive response, I think I’ll show a little more of her ;-) Thank you to Necron of said Discord for helping me with my capture card issues. Also, I’m showing what happened to Mayfair after the last video (and she has a much less formally speaking twin, Clarisse.) Sorry that the video ends somewhat abruptly, that was because Pandora started stripping right after, and I don’t want to violate the community guidelines. I’m past this area in terms of progress, currently finishing dialogue up Karape Port Town (both scenarios at once.) PLEASE READ THE WARNING BELOW IF EASILY OFFENDED! Battle #4 from Kakeru's scenario, and Video #2 in my ongoing Dragon Knight 4 English translation. I figured I should upload something more substantial than Discord screenshots to let everyone know that this project is alive and well (if moving slowly). Check out my PC-9821 Cx S3! Can emulators boot with this awesome CanBe screen?? I captured this with OBS, the OSSC, and a HDMI-USB adapter. Thank Tomyun for the menu sprite editing (as well as the Juice tool that allowed for this project to happen in the first place.) Look at those HEXAGONS!! Even today, few SRPGs have them. Characters are controlled by mouse buttons. The “+[Number]” shows how many troops a commander has left, “R”=attack range, “M”=move(amount of tiles.) As for menu options: QUIT: quits game, shows the "GAME OVER" screen, then reverts to load save file/new game screen, PASS: end turn AUTO: AI decided your unit’s actions, Anime: Combat animations on/off (turning them off is a MISTAKE!) Btw: I’m not sure if anyone caught it, but one very minor typo has been fixed from my last translation video (it was a “you”/“your” confusion.) WARNING on objectionable content: tl;dr: There is a brief rape scene with no private parts shown, the rapist is driven off, and the lady is ok after. I have pmed Utreon staff, and they ok-ed it. Don’t shoot me, I’m only the piano player -I mean- translator... This video briefly shows one character being raped, but then Kakeru’s army frees her, drives off the rapist, and she is thankful and can be recruited in the next town. No genitalia are shown (élf voluntarily censored them, not me), no nipples (of either sex) are present either. In the finished game, you will be able to hold the CTRL key to skip most scenes you may find disagreeable, but in this video, I’ve included a timestamp to get around if you so choose. The scene lasts from 10:31-11:02. Please note that I find rape abhorrent, but also hate censorship.

After over a year of translating, brushing up on Japanese, learning about hacking old Japanese computer files, I think It's finally time I show a snippet of my labor to the world. This project was made possible by Tomyun’s Juice tool, which is able to extract text from élf Corporation games for editing. If you want to know more about said tool, join the PC-98 Discord, and post in the fan-translation channel. This footage was reocrded on the Emulator NekoProject21nt (FMGEN pack), but I can confirm it also works on DOSBox-X and real hardware (specifically my PC-9821 Cx S3.) Potential FAQ: What is the NEC PC-98? Dragon Knight 4? A: In layman’s terms, the PC-98 was a Japanese computer line that could run MS-DOS/early Windows, but did not conform to the IBM PC standards of the time. It has a very distinctive art style and sound style, and is also notable for a large amount of eroge (NSFW games). Dragon Knight 4 is an ESRPG (Erotic Strategy Role Playing Game) with some Visual Novel elements. It has has plenty NSFW, but is also plot heavy. This video should meet Utreon's standards. A: Yes it is, élf had a sense of humor. Doukyuusei is a series of dating Visual Novels (which basically created the gameplay for the modern VN) also made by élf for those unaware.
