Today I'm back with another Retro Review this time we look at the UD Hunter RDA. The UD Hunter RDA is 22mm atomiser made from stainless steel, it has a chuff cap with rifling on the inside. they say it creates a vortex. To me it cuts the flavour right down. You get a bag of spares and a 510 adaptor in the box and I prefer to use the 510 and a 510 drip tip as you get better flavour. As links are not allowed in the description if you use your google-fu you can still find this for around £19 in the UK. Sunday Morning Retro Review This Sunday I have a retro mod I've been wanting to do for some time. I'm talking about the iJoy LMC collaboration, The iJoy LMC Lux box mod. This is a big beast that had a maximum output og 215w. This is a regulated power and temp control mod and was the first magazine type mod I had come across. A big selling point with this device was the fact it came with two iJoy 40A 26650 batteries. Before the device was released two more sleeves had been designed and manufactured ready for it's release. There was a promise of more till iJoy release the same device under the EXO name and that was the last of any friendship between LMC and iJoy which ended up in a court case. The device itself has an easy menu to use and came with all the protection you needed in a regulated box mod. This device made its first appearance in August 2016. All in all this is still a great mod to use. Today I'm back with another Retro Review, this time a device for the car from 2014. Yes I'm talking about the Innokin itaste DRV. The Innokin itaste DRV is a variable voltage device running from 4.2v to 6.4v. The main unit plugged in to the lighter port in the car, The device worked with 12v and 24 v DC. The centre of the main device has an on/off button and the outer part is the wheel for adjusting the voltage. The device came with a fire button removable part and a auto draw removable part. It all fit together with an umbilical cable. Included in the kit were two iclear 16d clearomizer's , this clearomizer didn't have a good reputation though within the vaping community. Although I couldn't find anyone in the UK left with this in stock I did find it on a few USA websites. #innokin #retro #coolfire1 #thesalfordvaper Today we have the first of this years Retro Reviews and to kick it off we have the Innokin CoolFire 1 that started to make an appearance in December 2013. This a tube set regulated tube mod set at 8.5W output. There's no adjustment to this device. The device runs on a single 18350 battery but there was an 18650 adapter that was released some time later. The kit came with the iClear 30B tank that didn't have a good reputation. The tube mod has a 510 and ego fitting, a lot of people that purchased this device didn't use the tank but preferred to use a Pro tank on the device. All in all I love the look of this tube mod but performance I believe was not the best compared to some other devices that were on the market. Sunday Morning Retro oops a bit late. Any way today we have the Youde UD Bellus 22mm RTA. This tank was released back in October 2015, single or dual coil on a pull out deck, shared dual posts for dual coil but I liked it best as a single coil 5ml tank. Made from 304 stainless steel and strips right down to clean. All in all this tank is still as good today as many others out on the market now. Today we head back to mid 2017 where most of the releases at that time were velocity deck tanks until one day in around the June of 2017 came the WOTOFO Serpent SMM, A single coil RTA from Matt Culley and WOTOFO. This single coil 24mm RTA which came with two spare replacement glasses was a god send at the time. Made from Stainless Steel and with a walled airlow indipendent of each other made a real change. The kit included everything you needed to get going, cotton, three ready made coils and a screwdriver. The build fit and finish was really up there with the best. The flavour you get from this single coil RTA even with a simple round wire coil will suprize you. Today's retro review comes from back at the end of 2016. So we have the collaboration between Praxis Vapors of California and CigGo China. So what am I talking about? The Banshee, a dual 18650 150W box mod. The Banshee was a bit of an odd ball for the time as it had a dot matrix screen that took up the whole of the side of the mod. No problem to see for those of us with eyesight problems. The maximum size of tank you could put on the Banshee was 24mm which at the time was becoming the standard. The Banshee was power and TC, TC for NI200, TI and SS. It came with all the usual protections but as for changing modes it was a bit hit and miss. Power scroll time was far to fast to be honest. The outer rubber sleeve was very comfortable to hold. It was a pity that Praxis Vapors went under could you imagine what more crazy mods they could have come out with in the last 4 years. Fit and finish was good. All in all still one of my go to mods that comes out for use a couple of times a year for a few weeks. Todays retro review is from back in September 2015. This single battery mod was the first to have a centered 510, so what am I talking about. I'm talking about the Eleaf iStick TC60W mod. The Eleaf iStick TC60W mod was produced back in the infancy of Temp Control. Temp modes were only for Nickel and Titanium, there was no Stainless Steel mode at the time. The Eleaf iStick TC60W mod is a single 18650 mod. Power from 1W to 60W, TC range 100 to 315C 200 to 600F, TC resistance range 0.05 to 1 ohm, power resistance range 0.15 to 3.5 ohm's. Dimensions 90 X 38 X 28mm and it had all the usual protections, the mod is powder coated and you could get replacement panels to change the look of the mod (it never had red panels like I thought it did). The kit came with the Melo tank (I think the version 2) . The mod is ergonomic in shape, The menu is very easy to use having a select button at the bottom. To me the USB charge port is in the wrong place being under the mod but back then I would advise not to charge via this port but use an external charger. Having looked online to see if I could still get this mod a few places had it but it wasn't cheap, the lowest price I seen was £32.95 and that went up to £49 on one site. The fit and finish are very good on this mode. All in all a great 60W mod from back in the day and one i'll be using for my MTL tanks. Today's retro review is from back in Feb 2017. I'm talking about the Joyetech eVic Primo 200W box mod. This mod has to be one of the most ergonomic devices made for the vaper. It fits in the hand so comfortably because of its shape. The Joyetech eVic Primo 200W is a dual 18650 battery device weather it hit 200W that's another question but it can't have been to far away. The fit and finish on mine was top shelf but I do believe some had a 510 problem. The menu is comprehensive and fiddly to get round as most Joyetech mods were back then but you got in the menu Power, smart, Tc and TCR all fully adjustable by the user. Sunday Retro Review woohoo, So here we go back to 2015 and the original Innokin Cool Fire 4, Well we have seen this device evolve from the original to the 70W, TC 100, the 18650, Mini and the 150 all with this form factor but the 40W is where it all started. The Innokin Cool Fire 4 has a built in 2000 mAh battery which includes all the usual safety features, a small OLED screen, VV and VW, a 510 to ego adaptor. No TC in the original. The kit came with the original iSub tank. Back in 2015 this was a must have mod and you can tell how popular it was and still is as its still being made and sold today. Now it comes in many colours but in 2015 the choice was SS or Black soon after followed by the blue and red. This is a very easy mod to use and find your way around and sits in the hand just right. The fit and finish are top shelf as always. The iSub tank on the other hand had a few problems. All in all this was and still is a great 40W mod to have in the collection. Today's Sunday Retro review is a device from back in March 2017. Im talking about Wismec's answer to the Smok Alien the Predator, So we have Alien V Predator not only on the big screen but in the vape world as well. The Wismec Predator is a dual 18650 device and this kit came with the Elabo subohm Tank. This is a compact device with an easy menu to get around, this menu was not new and most of us had used it as an update on other Wismec devices of the time. The one good thing about this device was the battery door, although on the bottom of the device you couldn't accidentally open it picking it up. This was the first device I came across that had dual protecting chips on the board and also the Elabo tank was the first I came across that used the drip tip as child safety protection. With the tank you had a choice of two coil resistances a 0.2 screw in coil and a 0.25 press fit coil. Unfortunately in the review the tank dumps the e-liquid this never happened when it was in regular use a few years ago so the only thing I can put it down to is maybe the silicon o-rings had come to the end of their life as the tank could not hold a vacuum.
