Rifle Reviews
The WK181 is a variant of the WK180 gen 2. It’s a semi-automatic, piston-driven rifle in 7.62x39 made in Canada and it takes AK mags. 5000 round report: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xdTUSOM6fH3S0RXBEjvoZ8cO0U_z2ZJl/view
BCL has some fixes available for BCL Bison owners. I'll cover those 3 fixes in this video. Original Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMkDuwOObpw
The Ruger American Ranch is a fun gun to shoot. It’s light (~6lbs without optic or mag), and the short 16″ barrel throws fireballs with some ammo. Not much recoil to be had with 223, so it’s great for youth to shoot as well. Article: https://www.huntinggearguy.com/rifle-reviews/ruger-american-ranch-review/
The Black Creek Labs (BCL) Bison Scout is a bolt action, magazine fed rifle made in Canada by BCL. It takes STANAG mags as well as a proprietary magazine made just for it. Right now, these retail for around $1000. Note: this specific rifle has had the stock replaced and a different flash hider installed than what comes from the factory. The factory brake on a 12″ barrel is like a slap in the face every time you shoot it so you may want a flash hider instead. article: https://www.huntinggearguy.com/rifle-reviews/bcl-bison-mrx-review/
The Crossman American Classic 1322 is a classic .22 caliber pellet pistol that's great for small game and plinking.
The Spectre Ballistics International (SBI) Lynx 180 Match is an AR180 compliant lower you can use to build out a competition AR180. 00:00 Intro and shooting 03:35 Who should get it 06:08 Ban? Article here: https://www.huntinggearguy.com/rifle-reviews/sbi-lynx-180-match-review/
The Oryx Sportsman Rifle Chassis is well suited for getting started in precision shooting, like PRS for centerfire, or precision 22LR shooting competitions like ORPS in Canada or NRL22 in the US. https://www.huntinggearguy.com/competition/oryx-chassis-review/
The Jard J180 is an American-made upper&lower kit for making an AR180-style rifle. Unlike many 180’s, this one uses direct impingement, just like the AR15. Why does this matter? Because it makes it easy to replace barrels with AR-compatible barrels. Most other 180’s require you to use a specific gas tube length: most are carbine length, and that limits your barrel selection. The J180 also has a very interesting takedown. Is it better than the more popular WK180C or WS-MCRs? 00:00 Introduction 00:48 Closer view 04:58 Magazine Compatibility 08:26 Disassembly 12:14 Conclusion Article: https://www.huntinggearguy.com/rifle-reviews/jard-j180-review/

These are quite rare up in Canada, so I thought I'd show a video disassembling and reassembling one so you can clean it.
Rifle on loan thanks to Molotay. The Valmet M78 LMG is an AK pattern rifle made in Finland. They're semi automatic, made for the civilian market and they're non-restricted in Canada. Unfortunately, they haven't been made in a long time, so they're quite pricey ($5,000-10,000) and so they're more of a curio than a practical rifle for hunting or sport shooting. In this video, I review the .308 version. Rifle on loan thanks to Molotay. https://www.huntinggearguy.com/rifle-reviews/valmet-m78-lmg-308-review/
The KelTec RDB is an American-made, semi-automatic, bullpup, downward ejecting, 223/556 rifle. Like many of KelTec’s designs, it’s pretty wild, doing something very novel (ejecting empties straight down). At around $1500, they’re pretty price competitive for the quality. The Type 81 LMG is a Chinese made rifle that is non restricted in Canada. It's in 7.62x39mm, it uses 5 round stick or drum mags. 00:00 Intro 02:41 Simulation 04:20 Range footage 04:44 Conclusion
The Maple Ridge Armoury Maverick is a straight pull 308 sized action that you can buy as a receiver set or complete rifle. This one is in 6.5 Creedmoor and I assembled it myself.
The Keystone Mini Mosin (aka the KSA 91/30 Mini Mosin Nagant) is a single shot, bolt action, 22LR made in the USA. It’s very similar to Keystone’s Crickett youth rifles, except it very closely resembles a scaled down, adorable Mosin Nagant M91/30. I test SKS iron sights vs optics out at the range.
The Maverick is a straight-pull, 308 sized receiver set or complete rifle made by Maple Ridge Armoury. I built this one in 6.5 Creedmoor. This is just a first look, I'll have a more complete review after I've had some time with the rifle. Just in case it's not obvious, the optics setup is a joke. I wouldn't use 2 red dots and a laser on a hunting rifle.
The Freedom Ordnance FX9 is a 9mm PCC. Here in Canada, they sell a long barrel version that's non restricted. 00:00 Introduction 01:20 Usability and features 05:57 Shooting footage 06:15 Cons 09:00 Kaboom 12:00 Conclusion #9mm #pcc
Disassemble your FX9 for cleaning and oiling. Reassemble it so you can use it afterwards.
