The American South East has a long and dynamic history defined by a particular lifestyle, economy, ethnic group, governing style, and faith which sets it apart from much the rest of the country. In today's video we'll be discussing the brief history of the Southern States, particularly how Baptism, or rather, the Southern Baptist Convention, has come to shape them into a unique entity, and why despite a turbulent history and difficulties at present, the rebounding of Baptist America is virtually inevitable, and in a scenario where the United States were to experience division, collapse, or a second civil war, it would emerge as an independent entity. A Baptist America is inevitable, the only question is how much of its present territory it will retain given rising rival movements, declining birthrates, increased secularization, and more. Mormonism is generally regarded as one of the stricter, and more rapidly growing faiths in the modern day, and most especially in the United States. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints upholds a very distinct identity, which also promotes well-connected communities, extensive missionary work, and the raising of large, devout families; this seems to be a good recipe for building a large and influential community, one that some speculate is poised to become the largest Christian denomination, and the largest religion within the United States within the 21st or 22nd centuries. Already Mormons form a majority within the state of Utah, having grown from a small following in 1830 to now number in the millions, and are gradually expanding out from Utah into neighboring states, as well as across the world. But just how realistic are these projections of Mormon population growth? Is Mormonism really rising, or is it collapsing? Across the Western world, religions of all kinds, but especially Christianity appear to be losing membership to the rising movement of secularism, and the LDS Church is no exception, though some sources suggest that the Church is still enduring better than its Protestant and Catholic counterparts. The United States is also undergoing a great deal of instability, with some speculating that Civil War might break out between Democrats and Republicans, and that the country might collapse and break up, possibly leaving an opportunity for well organized, and distinct groups like the Mormons to establish their own successor states, like the once proposed Mormon state of Deseret.
