-UPDATE- Interesting developments ladies and gentle. Some are saying they can still find this event on their steam store page buried in the "special offers" section. Others that they can't find it at all. Checking this myself I can confirm that it is NOT there for me, either as a header or buried in the 'special offers' section at the time of making this video and this update. Navigating to the Steam URL of the event, I can still find the sale manually but otherwise, there is 0 indication that it exists on Steam. In other words, without the exact URL, I would have no way of finding this or knowing it was happening. This speaks to something very interesting and implies that Valve has resorted to burying this content in sub menus for some people and going so far as to hide it behind some manner of localization so that only certain regions will get it. This is probably to avoid a breach of contract or something similar in the form of "technically it's still there". I believe the technical term for what Valve is doing here is 'damage control'. Either way you try to slice this, it's an absolute sh*t show and still speaks to the massively AstroTurfed nature of this entire event. I'm all for supporting Indie and other small game developers but doing so as part of an openly racist campaign such as this is a terrible play from Valve. --- Do not let this get shoved down the memory hole. Been doing a lot of reading around European, specifically British, religious history over the past few weeks and several interesting similarities have come up. So, I thought I'd share them. If I had to guess I'd imagine the "self sown seeds" that keep coming up is a hunter gatherer period with small populations, then the mention of agriculture and mining is the agrarian revolution and then after that the first cities and the problems that seem inherent in lots of people living in close quarters with all their base needs being met by others and so free to cause all manner of mischief. As for the flood myth. It's been confirmed by archeological and geological evidence that there have been massive historical floods in the Sumer, southern Mesopotamia, in the BCs. Seems reasonable that such a thing, being rare and devastating would carry forward in stories and be spread out as people went their ways and adapted them to their own localization. Land ownership is an interesting concept under a legal system governed by religion.
